After an uncertain future, two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs has found a new home with the Seattle Seahawks.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Diggs is signing a one-year deal with the Seahawks after trying out with the team on Tuesday.
“I just want to come here to compete, earn my keep, and do everything I can to earn a spot here and help this team win,” Diggs told reporters.
Diggs will reunite with two familiar faces in Seattle: Josh Jobe, his former teammate at Alabama, and DeMarcus Lawrence, his former Cowboys teammate.
“I liked it here a lot, this feels like home, you know? I got a lot of familiar faces,” Diggs said.
Diggs also tried out with the Detroit Lions but said the Seahawks are a great fit for him.
The Seahawks still plan to sign former Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold. According to Schefter, Arnold will be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list when he signs because of his ongoing legal issues.
Diggs’ NFL Career
The former Alabama cornerback was drafted 51st overall by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2020 NFL draft.
He played six seasons with the Cowboys before being waived at the end of the 2025 season after struggling with injuries. Diggs tore his ACL in September 2023 and underwent two additional knee procedures in December 2024 and January 2025, limiting his ability to play.
The Green Bay Packers claimed him off waivers on December 27, 2025. He started the Packers’ final regular-season game against the Minnesota Vikings and played one snap in the wild-card round against the Chicago Bears.
The Packers then released Diggs on January 20, 2026, just shy of a month after he joined the team.
After an uncertain future, Diggs believes Seattle can provide the opportunity and competition he has been looking for.
